Crafting Meaningful reflections: social Media Resource Package
Evidence No.11: Weebly Resource Package
Within OLTD506 we were given the opportunity to investigate a Social Media tool that could be used in an educational setting. Please find following the resource package that I created which includes various investigations relating to the online webpage development tool Weebly.

By completing this package many of the course outcomes were met.
A backgrounder is designed as a cohesive information package that can be provided to stakeholders, such as parents, students and District staff. The intention is provide sufficient information and supplemental resources to educate stakeholders of potential issues relating to the use of a social media tools (in the case Weebly) in the classroom.
Part of the package would include a consent form which would have to be completed prior to the use of the tool by students. The consent form would disclose how the tool is to be used and any immediate risks, such as the provision of personal identifiable information, and how those risks would be mitigated.
Until recently, I have not used social media in the classroom. My first attempt was in the creation of a Weebly website for the course AP Microeconomics. This website, which I shared in OLTD 505, included a discussion board and shared student knowledge of the course concepts. Although I was clear with students that they were not to use any personal information, the completion of this project highlighted to me just how important managing personal information and access to online tools are. In addition this project made me more aware of the existing resources available to me, such as District policy.
Through the completion of this project I feel I have a better understanding of the risks associated with internet usage and the manner in which formal communication can be undertaken and consent for its use obtained. Social media is a powerful tool that allows knowledge to be shared and communities built.

- Analyze social media tools for educational use.
- Create content for student & parental training to address tool use & management of risks

Crafting Meaningful reflections: Final Reflection & Wrap up
Evidence No.12: Final Reflection and Wrap Up.
The final activity in OLTD506 was to reflect on the course as a whole. I created a Powtoon presentation and completed a screen cast voice over to elaborate on content. This enabled me to collect my thoughts for the entire course and highlight points of specific interest to me.
By completing this project many course outcomes were met. Most obvious being;
Screen-casting provides an opportunity for audio to be recorded as video is captured from a computer screen. This allows the creator to pace a video presentation to emphasis key aspects on already created materials.
This evidence provided me the opportunity to reflect on the entire content of the course. Although I am familiar with social media, completing this course and the subsequent final reflection helped be tie tighter the wider aspects of using social media in the classroom and the issues surrounding connectivity, privacy and information security.
By completing this evidence I highlighted several learning outcomes, most obvious of which being my development of knowledge relating to key terms & concepts. I display this by recounting key aspects of my learning throughout the course and what these key concepts mean to me. Most importantly, however, by completing this activity I found that my personal knowledge of social media and its use within the classroom has greatly increased.
